:,(

No good results to report... In fact, no change at all. If anyone has good advice to sticking to healthier eating habits, I would appreciate it. Late night snacking is my nemesis! Especially when I work late at the bar, i.e. every freakin' weekend. Any tips to curb boredom-eating? My exercise regime is great, and I feel great! I just don't think I look great. Thanks in advance, I know I have wonderful blog readers... P.S. I absolutely refuse to use the word "diet." I am just getting healthy. It is a lifestyle change! Diets break spirits...

On a lighter note, I have a show on Discovery Health Channel that I love called "X-Weighted." It's Canadian, way too serious, and so fun. Anyway, the girl that was on it today was a former dancer who gained quite a bit of weight. When I first saw her I thought, oh she looks just like me! I should see how she loses the weight. They measured her and she was 5 inches bigger than me in the chest, 11 in the waist, and 4 in the hips. She weighed a full 40 lbs more than me! I couldn't believe it. Apparently, I've been a little too hard on myself. I know I still need to get healthier, and maybe weight loss will come with that. For now, I'm focusing on healthy. Mostly... I am still very eager to fit into my skinny jeans. Not the skinny style, but the skinny size.

The Universal Resolution!

Like most Americans, I have resolved to be healthier in 2009. I have gotten off to a pretty good start. I have held off posting and/or really telling anyone, except my fitness obsessed sister, about my goals and improvements. I wanted to make sure I was committed enough to take accountability for the progress I make. She has been doing work out videos since time began, so I borrowed some of hers. The 30 Day Shred is the best at home work out ever! It's less than 30 minutes and I am always drenched with sore muscles when I'm done. And I'm two weeks in! It has three levels and I don't think I'll ever get to level three. Two is enough for me! Kelly and I are also going to start dance classes. Not like ballroom or something like that. Jazz and ballet! We were supposed to start tonight, but it has to wait till next week because we are going to the Royal Bliss CD release party. Yay! Any way, I am way too insecure to post my starting stats, but I'll periodically post my advancements. Hopefully this workout delivers it's claims... My goal is to fit into the "skinny jean's" in my closet by my birthday (February 22nd.) Wish me luck!

Love, Limits & Latitude

There is a little boy who I have been baby sitting a couple times a week. He is Cam's age and bigger than Ty. The other day, he started crying, so I turned to see Cam standing next to him looking very guilty. I asked Cam if he hit Ami, and he said no. I asked him why Ami was crying and he confidently said, "I eat him." The same day, I took all three of the boys to the small play area at South Towne Mall. He attempted to bite another boy on the slide. Luckily, he only got shirt! I left the mall feeling so frustrated and in tears. Why would he start biting now? That is something that young toddlers do, not 2 1/2 year old ones. What did I do wrong? With Ty I thought I was such an amazing mom, so prideful in my ways, and sweet little Cam has humbled me immensely. I talked to DB, and I was totally at a loss. He laughs at any punishment he receives and is totally defiant. Sounds like a normal 'terrible-two-year-old', I know. I prayed for some sort of comfort, some sort of guidance. I know that the one perfect parent could help. I went to bed in tears, but confident that time would help me figure something out. I have a stack of Ensign's that I have been trying to get through. I picked one up the next morning and the next article was called, "Love, Limits and Latitude." It was absolutely an answer to my prayers! In the article, President James E. Faust is quoted: "...child rearing is individualistic. What works with one [child] may not work for another." Any of you who have ever been around my children know how night and day they are. I have heard this advice before, but it never clicked until that moment. This past week, I have worked to be more even-tempered with my children. I've worked on consequences, not discipline. I have neglected my chores to be with my children, and that alone has made a world of difference in the mood of my home, and the attitude of Cam. For the first time in his life, he wants me to comfort him, not his dad. I have rocked him to sleep at least 3 times this week. I have looked at motherhood with a much more humble attitude and know that I don't have to go it alone. Prayer is real. Heavenly Father is aware of all of my struggles. He wants to help and all I had to do was ask. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long!
